A 24-page booklet published in 1917 by the Wanamaker store in Philadelphia elegantly describes in prose and photographs the largest organ in the world, at that time comprising 232 speaking stops and later to become twice as large. Here reproduced in a facsimile edition published by the Friends of the Wanamaker Organ, the booklet delights the reader with fascinating information, including details of construction, descriptions of six special stops, a tour of the interior, the history of the organ's creation, and a brief, general history of the organ as a musical instrument. A nicely reproduced engraving of the facade folds out to 9" x 14". An interesting chart compares the size of the Wanamaker organ to ten other large organs. Even the color combinations used at the console are described.
