An historical summary of each organ appears in both French and English. Even those cathedrals without organs are pictured in a chapter called �Edifices sans Voix.� The preface is by Marie-Claire Alain and an afterword is by organbuilder Philippe Hartmann. The organs are presented by geographical �departments,� but an alphabetical index makes reference easy.
