This Advent liturgy created by Peter Hallock combines readings, hymns, chant, and anthems by Ramsey, Howells, Weelkes, and Willcocks. The service is organized around Hallock’s setting of 7 great “O” Antiphons that form the basis of the hymn “O Come, O Come Emmanuel.” The all-male Compline Choir directed by Hallock sings in dialog with the Cathedral’s mixed choir directed by J. Melvin Butler, who also plays the 32’ Flentrop. |
