The organist of the famous York Minster in England 1946-82 celebrated his 80th birthday in October, 1997. A retrospective of Jackson as organist, conductor, and composer, this new disc gathers recordings made during a span of 47 years, 1950 to 1997, on the York Minster organ and with its choir as well as other venues. A chorister under his predecessor Edward C. Bairstow 1929-33, Jackson has long been identified with the works of this great church composer.
