Stephen Cleobury conducts the Choir of King’s College, Cambridge, in a service of Seven Readings and Carols as recorded recently in DTS Surround Sound and PCM stereo. Also included is a rare, 45-minute film of much of the 1954 Service of Nine Lessons and Carols directed by Boris Ord, and a 20-minute conversation among Sir David Willcocks, Sir Philip Ledger, and Stephen Cleobury who have succeeded one another as directors of music at King’s since 1957, with Willcocks’ association extending to 1938. An illustrated booklet contains carol texts, historical notes, and biographies. This program is available on DVD only.
